The 29th Annual Muse AwardsThe 29th Annual Muse Awards took place this Wednesday, admiring the remarkable film and television personalities. The fabulous show starred Ugly Betty's America Ferrera as well as NBC's own Julianna Margulies who plays the lead role of nurse Carol Hathaway on medical drama ER. The fun filled award show featured host of "The Colbert Report" Stephen Colbert, who surprisingly showed up to present a Muse Award to Allison Silverman, late night comedy writer/producer. The Jane Carter Solution, which produces natural hair products for curly and dry hair, was amongst the many to participate in the glamorous show. GoodGirlPR was also instrumental in preparing gift bags for this event.

MIMS Guilt Album Release Party

Hello World! GoodGirlPR, along with The Movement Inc. and Noir Productions, Inc hosted a NJ Nets event. Maurice Ager celebrated his 25th birthday with us at Cain Luxe Night Club. It was the most fun I've had in a while. It was sensational. This is not a fabrication of the truth. Any time industry people put a pause on holding up the wall and start to get down, it's a good look.

Actually, EVERYONE ultimately had a great time on behalf Maurice's birthday. Vince Carter,Bobby Simmons (decked out in a tux), and Sean Williams of the Nets came. Also in attendance were Shaun B. Laurent of the Wire, Terrence J. and Rocsi of 106 and Park, DJ Nickiee, Stylist Marcelina Canchola, JoJo Brim, model Bryan Taylor, Model Jenelle Simon, S.W. Rosenburg of The Life, Dutch and Rapper Sonny Cash, Model Chavis Aaron and Marco of Marco Art. Music was provided by DJ Scoob Doo and Hot 97 and MTV's Cipha Sounds. Anyone you ask had a great time. I loved it.

Gabrielle Joffie, who works with us, arranged for the entire cast to sign it at the Brooklyn premiere of "Notorious". NICE!

FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END, THE PRODUCTION KEEPS YOU LAUGHING, CRYING AND BOPPING YOUR HEAD. IT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE TIME WHERE MUSIC WAS AS REAL AS THE STORIES IT TOLD AND YOU ACTUALLY HAD A TOUGH DECISION TO MAKE ON WHO YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER SHOULD BE.

WE, AT GOODGIRLPR, HAD A CHANCE TO BE A PART OF THE HOOPLA LAST THURSDAY AT THE BROOKLYN PREMIERE OF THE FILM.  WE WERE ASKED TO GATHER ITEMS FOR GIFT BAGS TO PRESENT TO THE CAST MEMBERS.  WE DID JUST THAT AND THEN SOME.  SEVERAL COMPANIES GAVE WILLINGLY FOR THE CAUSE.  THE MOST GENUINE PIECES CAME FROM TWO BIGGIE INSPIRED INDIVIDUALS.   DJ SHOGUN AND PETER MARCO OF MARCO ART BROUGHT THEIR OWN TALENT OUT TO REPRESENT FOR THE GREATEST RAPPER WHO EVER DID IT.  "B.I.G. - A TASTE OF BROOKLYN" IS THE TITLE OF THE PHENOMENAL MIXTAPE DJ SHOGUN AND DJ DRIIS OF HEADSHELL LTD. PUT TOGETHER.  NEW SCHOOL BEATS BLEND AND COMPLIMENT CHRISTOPHER WALLACE'S COMMANDING VOICE AND LYRICS.  SHOGUN'S TAKE ON IT WAS THAT HE WANTED TO BE A BIT MORE CREATIVE WITH IT INSTEAD OF DOING THE TYPICAL TWENTY TWO TRACKS OF BIGGIE'S HITS.

    MARCO ART TRAVELED THAT EXTRA MILE AS WELL WITH HIS 70"X90" PORTRAIT PAINTING OF BIGGIE SMALLS.  WITHIN A DAY, THE ARTIST CREATED THE BRILLIANT PIECE WITH ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.  IT DISPLAYED IN THE GREEN ROOM FOR ALL TO ADMIRE AS CAST MEMBERS SIGNED IT.  IN ADDITION, HE MADE A PICTURE FOR GOODGIRLPR!

THE GREEN ROOM FILLED UP QUICKLY WITH NEWS REPORTERS, ACTORS, PUBLICISTS, MUSIC ICONS AND POLITICAL FIGURES.  THIS INCLUDED: GEORGE TILLMAN, JR. (DIRECTOR), JAMAL WOOLARD (BIGGIE), DEREK LUKE (PUFFY), ANTONIQUE SMITH (FAITH EVANS), ANTHONY MACKIE (TUPAC), CJ WALLACE, DENNIS WHITE (D-ROC), FAITH EVANS, LIL' CEASE, VOLETTA WALLACE, MR. CEE, MARTY MARKOWITZ (BROOKLYN BOROUGH PRES.), LATISHA JAMES (BROOKLYN COUNCIL MEMBER), AND REV. JESSE JACKSON.

THE OCCASION ENDED WITH Q & A FOR THE CAST AFTER THE EXTRAORDINARY MOVIE WAS SHOWN. IT WAS A FANTASTIC EVENING FOR A FANTASTIC REASON IN BROOKLYN.

A Quick Look Back

2008 is almost finished and the level of anticipation for the new year is bubbling over. The entire world expects great things to come in the future. GoodGirlPR is no exception to this feeling since we've had such an exciting and progressive few months. From September to now, we've been hands on in a number of great projects.

Back to the 90s: This event introduced the world to a new pair of entrepreneurs who were ready to take over the world. Being in conjunction with the VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, the turn-out was insane with people down the block in the rain, but the vibe was that of calm positivity. It made for a wonderful time.

The Annual Mixtape Awards Surprise DJ Red Alert: In the same week, the Justos celebrated DJ Red Alert’s 25 years of being an active figure in music on the radio. Hosted by the Wonder Twinz, numerous individuals who had been influenced by Red’s personality and drive, shared their love for the legendary DJ. Every testimony told the story of his life and theirs with him.

Mixtape Master’s Marathon: During the week of the CMJ Music Marathon, the Mixtape Awards had a remarkable event in Brooklyn. The top mixtape hip hop artists had a chance to display their talent in front of numerous press and industry execs. The extremely efficient and hardworking, Chris Rodriguez involved us in that. It was remarkable to say the least.

The 2^nd Annual Ghost Ball: Thomas Jones and Kerry Rhodes of the New York Jets hosted our charity event for Safe Horizon’s organization. On Halloween night, Mercury Bar on the lower east side was packed wall to wall with patrons. Everyone had a great time getting together, dancing and admiring costumes.

Party At The Ivar: We took it to the west coast in early November. We had a party with Omarion’s official DJ, Rampage in Hollywood’s trendy Ivar. Definitely a different type of crowd, DJ Nickiee still rocked the place with her turn tables. Everyone was grooving with hands up and bodies rockin'.

Mr. Jones’ Listening Party: Versatile Inc.’s newest artist, Mr. Jones, put his talent on display when he let the world hear his new cd, I am the Island. The up and coming hip hop star is well on his way under the wings of the wonderful Versatile Inc. staff.We will continue our hard work into the new year. We have even more things coming up that you will hear about shortly. If you’ve been supporting us throughout our existence so far, we thank you so much. Look for us!

On The Move

Our journey to the top has been faster than expected. We're even amazed at it sometimes. On October 31st, we held a charity function for Safe Horizon, the largest provider of domestic violence services in the country. It was hosted by Thomas Jones ("TJ") and Kerry Rhodes of the New York Jets. The turnout was incredible and people had a really great time. TJ even brought the lovely Meagan Good to enjoy the event. An article by Khalid Strickland was posted in the Amsterdam News last week. This is our second feature in the newspaper. The first was for our "Back to the 90s" event with TLAPR in conjunction with the Vh1 Hip Hop Honors. We just finished up a party with DJ Rampage in Los Angeles, California over the weekend where DJ Nickiee did her thing on the turntables.

We've got so much in the works and we won't stop. Coming up on November 21st, we're doing a listening party for Mr. Jones. Cipha Sounds of MTV and Hot 97 is hosting and it's gonna be another NYC event you won't wanna miss. So look for us!
